● Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 3/4 cups hot water
● Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch
baking dish.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar,
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
3. Stir in milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until
smooth.
4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
5. In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar and 1/4 cup
cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
6. Pour hot water over the top of the mixture in the baking
dish. Do not stir.
7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and
the cake has a fudgy layer underneath.
8. Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
